Welcome to the Color of Calm!

As I’ve been reflecting on the past decade, I’m amazed at how much my life has changed. 10 years ago I was pregnant for the first time and we were just settling into our new home. Over the next several years I went from working full time to being a stay-at-home mom, to a part-time working mom. Then, after experiencing a miscarriage and struggling to conceive again, I eventually did become pregnant, had an AMAZING birth experience and returned to life as a stay-at-home mom. At that time I decided to make a career change and became a HypnoBirthing educator.

For the second half of the decade I fully immersed myself in the birthing world – attending conferences, certifications, doula trainings, and of course, teaching many, many HypnoBirthing and  Newborn Care classes. I learned from each and every couple that went through my classes and I am honored to have been a part of their birth journeys. It has also been such an honor to be a part of the team at the Cap Wellness Center and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with these amazing birth professionals.

This new decade brings change, as the end of 2019 marked my last HypnoBirthing class. I have thought long and hard and finally made the tough decision to stop teaching to pursue other opportunities. I hope to return to birth work once my kids are older and much more independent but for the next decade I look forward to spending more time with my family and taking on bigger things at my day job. It’s already been an exciting start to the year filled with family outings and all things Girl Scouts!

I will eventually be phasing out this page but I am more than happy to provide referrals to other HypnoBirthing educators in the area. Thank you so much for your support over these last years!

With thanks,

Having a baby is one of the most exciting and transformative events in life. Welcoming a new little person into this world and into your family is an experience like no other. As women, our bodies know how to birth. Our babies know how to be born. Our bodies and our babies will work together in perfect harmony if we just relax and let nature do what it does best! Birth is not something to be afraid of – it should be peacefully and joyfully prepared for. Parenting and making wise choices for your baby begins even before birth!
